Eligibility Requirements for the Dallas ISD PreK Program
Children must qualify based on Eligibility Requirements.
To be eligible for the district Pre-Kindergarten Program a child must be 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 of the upcoming school year. The child is eligible for enrollment in the Pre-K program if he/she meets any of the following criteria:
- be unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
- be educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program [NSLP]); or
- be homeless; or
- be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, whose ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
- be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty Click here for more information; or

Pre-K Registration Procedures
What documents will I need to bring to qualify?
Please bring the following documents:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Proof of residence (utility bill or lease)
- Parent’s picture ID
- Military Identification Card
- Child’s Social Security card (optional)
- Court Papers indicating conservatorship or foster child placement (if applicable)
- Child’s current immunization record
- Proof of income (AFDC card, W-2 Forms, check stubs, bank statements for all working members of the household)

Los niños deben calificar basado en los requisitos de elegibilidad.
Para ser elegible para el programa de pre-kindergarten del distrito un niño debe tener 4 años en o antes del 1 de septiembre del próximo año escolar. El niño es elegible para la inscripción en el programa Pre-K si él/ella cumple con alguno de los siguientes criterios:
- No hable o comprenda el inglés; o
- Reúnan los requisitos para alimentos gratuitos/precio reducido; o
- Este recibiendo servicios para desamparados; o
- Actualmente este o ha estado en custodia temporal; o
- Es hijo(a) de un miembro activo del servicio militar estadounidense.
Procedimientos de Registración de Prekinder
¿Qué documentos necesitaré traer para calificar?
Favor de traer los siguientes documentos:
- Acta de nacimiento del niño
- Comprobante de domicilio
- Identificación del padre/tutor legal
- Tarjeta de identificación militar
- Tarjeta del seguro social del niño (opcional)
- Documentos de la corte indicando la tutela o la colocación de crianza (si corresponde)
- Registro de la vacunación actualizado del niño
- Comprobante de ingresos
